Walks in Ibiza: we’re off to La Marina

The old part of the city of Ibiza, Dalt Vila, is not the only recommendable walk in Ibiza. Today we’re off to La Marina, the old fishing quarter in the island’s capital, full of charming spots, restaurants, boutiques and terraces. Want to come? Make the best of your holidays in Ibiza Sun Apartments and discover the best places in the city.

 A walk through La Marina

The old fishing quarter in the island’s capital becomes very lively during the summer months, especially in the evenings, when it’s not as hot and it’s far more pleasant to take a stroll through its quaint streets. La Marina quarter is quite distracting, so we suggest you save an entire afternoon for it. Don't try to fit it in with a walk through Dalt Vila, because you won't have time to enjoy both quarters calmly.

What to see in La Marina?

There are plenty of charming spots along the narrow streets of La Marina, as you’ll find out first-hand when you stroll through the streets of Mar, Xeringa, del Passadís, de Enmig and Mare de Déu. We recommend you include in your walk the squares of Vara de Rey and Parque, the street of Antoni Marí Ribas, the viewpoint at the end of Mare de Déu street, the square of Sa Drassaneta and, of course, the square of La Constitución, with its old market and an exceptional view of Dalt Vila and the Cathedral. If you’re interested in architecture, you should visit the Broner House Museum, an excellent example of architectural rationalism (in this case, you should bear in mind its opening times when you plan your walk). Façades with a seaside feel, bougainvillea and climbing vines giving shade to quiet corners and narrow streets are some of the beautiful snapshots you’ll find on a walk through Ibiza that you should not miss during your holidays on the island.
