This year, Ibiza’s calendar brings music festivals of all kinds. There will probably be new additions during the next few months, but we wanted to let you know the ones that have already been announced so that you can block the dates in your diary. See you by the stage!

Festivals in Ibiza 2020: from jazz to electronic music

Every year, Ibiza makes its offer of art and music festivals for the summer season even better. In fact, in 2020, a new event has been added to the island’s calendar beyond the summer: the new International Festival Jazz Point. With this effort to breathe life into the winter cultural scene we will begin our selection of festivals in Ibiza.

Spring festivals in Ibiza

March

Ibiza International Festival Jazz Point

From 6th to 7th March, the city of Ibiza will host this new international jazz festival that aims to prove that the island is alive and kicking beyond the summer months. Sax player Rick Margitza, pianist Trevor Coleman, vibraphonist Joel Ross, bassist Joe Sanders, drummer Nasheet Waits, trumpet player Pere Navarro and sax player Javier Vercher are some of the artists who will be performing in Heart Ibiza and Teatro Ibiza. Also, some of them will be offering a masterclass at the Can Ventosa cultural venue. You can buy your tickets to the Ibiza International Festival Jazz Point for one or both days from this link.

Ibiza Swing Fun Fest 2020

From 24th to 26th April, Ibiza will welcome its third swing and lindy hop music festival with a programme that includes free performances by 15 Spanish and international bands in the city of Ibiza (Friday and Saturday) and in the village of Sant Antoni de Portmany (Sunday) See more details on their website and book your suite at Ibiza Sun Apartments: Remember that our doors will reopen on 22nd April!

May

Lovin’ Ibiza

The first weekend of May, 1st and 2nd May, will be devoted to this year’s Lovin’ Ibiza, an electronic music festival in Ibiza that gathers local talents and international stars. In 2020, this festival will be held in the Bora Bora beach club (Friday 1st May), only a short walk from Ibiza Sun Apartments, and in Amnesia club (Saturday 2nd May). We don’t yet know the list of guest artists, but you can already buy your tickets on the festival website.

Defected Ibiza Festival

From 14th to 18th May, the Defected Ibiza Festival will take place in 5 iconic venues and it’s a fantastic way to welcome the summer with the best tech house. They have already announced the 4 venues for the festival (Cova Santa, Eden, Heart Ibiza and Hï Ibiza) and the line-up: Basement Jaxx, Dimitri from Paris, Mambo Brothers, DJ Pippi, Melon Bomb, Manu González, Luke Solomon, Sam Divine… Book your ticket now and begin the countdown to your next trip to Ibiza.

International Music Summit

This isn’t an actual festival, but it is a summit devoted to the electronic music scene and it’s become a must-go for many clubbers who don’t want to miss the free outdoor party thrown in Dalt Vila on the last day of the event (22nd May this year).

Summer festivals in Ibiza

June

Sueños de Libertad (Dreams of Freedom)

This music festival will be coming back to Ibiza on 19th and 20th June after a year off to celebrate its fifth anniversary. It will be in Dalt Vila and will include food, street art, exhibitions and rock, pop, indie, hip-hop and funk gigs among other things. We don’t yet know the guest artists this year but if you’re interested, keep an eye on their Facebook profile for more details.

Creamfields Ibiza

The iconic Cream Ibiza party will celebrate its 25th anniversary this year and to celebrate it, Ibiza Rocks Hotel will host the amazing Creamfields Ibiza festival from 3rd to 5th July. The line-up hasn’t yet been revealed, but if you know you don't want to miss this event, visit its website and register on https://www.ibizarocks.com/creamfields/ to secure your ticket and learn about all the news as soon as they come out.

August

Bloop Festival 2020

From 6th August until 5th September, the city of Ibiza will celebrate this year’s Bloop Festival, a street art festival that explores a different theme each year through interactive installations, photo exhibitions and video-art, murals and graffiti made by well-known international street artists, music shows, workshops and lots of other free activities. Keep your eyes peeled on their Facebook profile to learn about their programme for 2020.

III Sanan Metal Day Festival

On 15 August, San Antonio will be hosting the third free festival of heavy metal music and these artists have already confirmed their performances: The Last Request, Hamlet, Noctem, Fostioner, Astray Valley and Born in Exile. If you’d like to know all the guest artists before planning your trip, watch out for their news on their Facebook profile.

Eivissa Jazz

From 1st to 5th September, Ibiza will once again welcome this key festival. Jazz is the absolute star of this 5-day event with free and paid performances in La Marina quarter in Ibiza and in the Santa Llucía bastion in Dalt Vila. The programme hasn’t been announced yet, so we suggest you watch out for the details on the Facebook profile of Eivissa Jazz.
